God Bless You

I found myself in need of making a Confirmation card today (the Mass is tomorrow). Well, I should have made it sooner, but with going out of town, then getting sick…blah-blah-blah…I just didn’t get around to it. SO! Here I am the day before the Mass and needing to make the card! Nothing like the last minute, right?

Since the confirmed-to-be is a teenage boy (ACK!) I wasn’t sure which way to go. I wanted it to be a sort of “traditional” card, but not overly floofy with embellishments, etc.  I think I destroyed my craft room looking for just the perfect cross stamp!! Then I decided to cut one out using my Cameo! Wooo! I found one I thought would be perfect for the idea I had brewing in my little pea-brain. All I needed to do was re-size it and cut it out.

Simple, right? WRONG!! Hole-y cardstock, Batman! And I DO mean HOLE-Y! The Cameo either didn’t cut deep enough or ripped the paper to smithereens. Took me something like 6 tries to get something sorta right. I worked with that one. Yeesh! I’m not sure why this happened but I need to figure it out…soon!

Anyway, here’s what I did. Pretty simple:

I scored some lines at the top & bottom of the card front. Cut a 4.25″ square and embossed that only using a square Nestability, then popped it up with foam tape. After my cross was cut, I ran that through my Vagabond using the Swiss Dots embossing folder and added foam tape on the back of that, too. I cut out my tag & embossed it, then stamped my sentiment, added the brads, then attached it to the card front. DONE! :) Easy as pie. Mmmm…pie.

Hope you’re all having a beautiful weekend!
