November 2018 – Essentials by Ellen Release

Welcome to the November 2018 release for Essentials by Ellen! So many wonderful wonderful stamps and dies in this release. I’ll be showcasing one of the wonderful new Stencil Dies and the new stamp set called Snow Days.

For the card above I used the Snowfall by Julie Ebersole, Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies. I made the die into an actual stencil and used a white pen to make the “snow” dots. The other set used is Essentials by Ellen Clear Stamps, Bear Ware 2 by Julie Ebersole.

This card was made using the sure to sell-out Snow Days by Julie Ebersole, Essentials by Ellen Clear Stamps. This set has so many versatile phrases and prints. Fun personified!  Also used on this card and the first card were the Lawn Fawn, Lawn Cuts, Stitched Snowflakes

Below are the stamps and dies that I used from this latest release.

Essentials August Challenge With Ellen Hutson

Hi there! And long time no see. :) I won’t go into my personal business for being away from my crafty schtuff, but it’s nice to be back on the ‘ol blogaroo with a card for Ellen Hutson, LLC today and I really hope you enjoy it.

This month on the the Ellen Hutson Blog we’re mixing things up a bit. Instead of doing a color challenge/trend we are going to be focusing on how to use alcohol inks. They are so much fun!! For joining in on the challenge, you could have a chance to win $50 to the Ellen Hutson store! Be certain to visit the BLOG for all the details.

Here is the card that I made. I used the Essentials by Ellen Clear Stamps, Over It by Julie Ebersole and the Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Unicorns ‘N Rainbows by Julie Ebersole. for my card.

I selected a variety of Ranger/Adirondack Alcohol Inks.  Trying to keep in a bit of a rainbow “collection”, but knowing that I will 100% NOT go in order. I used Yupo paper to drop the inks onto and also a straw to move the inks around. If I was satisfied I left the section alone, if not, I dropped Alcohol Ink Blending Solution onto the area and either just let the droplet be or used the straw again. At times I needed to use the felt pad and applicator to really move the inks around, but not much. I believe it was twice. (Which you can kind of see looking at the image below.)

I die-cut the panel down to size and die cut the clouds from the Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Unicorns ‘N Rainbows by Julie Ebersole die set from the remainder of the panel. I love the puffy little clouds in this set. So darn cute!! I stamped the rainbow and the greeting onto the Yupo paper using Versamark Ink and then GENTLY heat embossed with white embossing powder to preventing warping. (Yupo is a synthetic paper that is non-porous and works incredible with alcohol ink techniques.)

My last two card panels were also die-cut using the MFT Die-Namics A2 Stitched Rectangle Stax Set 2. I love this set and use it ALL the time. Once I adhered everything in place then I FINALLY attached my cute little puffy clouds with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® 3D Foam Squares Small, Black .  Around the perimeter of the main panel for a bit of extra shimmer I used Stickles Glitter Glue (use your favorite shiny one).

This was a fun card for me to make and really packs a POW! I just love the colors and the sentiment so very much.

Wishing you ALL bright and sunny days.

April 3 Takes on a Trend

Hi friends! Thank you so much for joining me this month for how we take on a trend with Ellen Hutson in the CLASSroom. This month there are three of us. Therefore: THREE Takes on a Trend. Duh. :D

The Pantone Palette is called Drama Queen and it is GORGEOUS!! Have a look:

Isn’t that a beautiful color palette?!?

Since the store is now carrying the stunning Alexandra Renke products I knew, almost immediately, what I wanted to create along with the fabulous new Essentials by Ellen Clear Stamps, Be Strong & Designer Dies by Brandi Kincaid.

I hope you like my card.

Usually I LOVE going bolder with color. Trust me. But, I’m finding lately that going softer has just as much visual impact, just in a different way. I’m still learning as I go and finding that you don’t always HAVE to create one way. You can have a certain technique or style that you prefer, but still learn. Ever day is a new opportunity, right?

Anyway! I’m rambling. This stamp set from Ellen Hutson LLC is one of those I think is a necessity for every stamper/creative. If you’ve ever struggled or known someone who is? This stamp set is perfect to make a set of cards to remind them how important they are. How special, how brave, how strong they are. And how much you love them.  Or maybe make something for yourself. ♥

This is your reminder that wherever you are, that I love you and I’m rooting for you. Be strong.

All my supplies are listed below and linked to shop for your convenience.
