Be Amazing

Hey there! I have a new card over on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog today that I’m calling “Be Amazing”. Why? Because of one of the little sentiment stamps that came on the Mama Elephant set that I used for the card called Organic Blooms.

I love how this card turned out. I used the stamps from Mama Elephant, all sorts of amazing adhesives (of course) from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®, the die as my centerpiece from Essentials by Ellen, and the Be Amazing stamp to tie it all together.  (All products will be linked below, if any of them are not available just be put on the waitlist — which is awesome!) This panel was water-colored using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. If you don’t have even a few of these markers, I would suggest trying a small set. The Zig Clean Color Markers are pretty amazing.

Using the inlaid die-cut like this is a beautiful way to draw the eye to the center of the card. It is also a great way to use the entire focal piece without getting rid of all your hard work!

To see alternate views of this “Be Amazing” card, please head over to the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog.  If you have any questions on how I made this card or would like to know more, please let me know. It’s been a while since I’ve made a video… ;)

Father’s Day

Whoa…another post?!! ;) I happen to have a Father’s Day card for my #TexturalTuesdays series on the CLASSroom blog for Ellen Hutson today. This card came together much easier than most really. I’ve kinda had a “thing” with circles, lately. My dear friend, Carisa, and I were even discussing this when I showed her a peek of the card. It’s just something I can’t get out out my head. When I was thinking about making my dad’s Father’s Day card I just knew this was the route I was going to go.

Making cards for men is just so hard, but when it’s your dad? You really want it to be extra special, too. I just have a heck of a time making cards for my dad. He thinks I’m the world’s greatest card-maker, but he would look at me sideways if I made him a card with golf clubs on it…or a moustache…or…baby animals….ya catch my drift? I still have to make it just so.

That’s why THIS card coming together so easy (mostly) kind of freaked me out. For the “mostly” part you have to check out the CLASSroom blog and read the full tutorial and all my deep, dark secrets. ;) In the meantime, here’s a full look at the card. No peek…I love this card too much.

It’s cool, huh? So even though it’s not quite Father’s Day yet, I think he’s gonna like this one. I wish you all could touch it. But my pops might have something to say about that. ;)

Thank you for stopping by today!

Be Your Own Hero

Hey there everyone! I have a brand new #TexturalTuesdays project up over at Ellen Hutson and the CLASSroom today with an Art Journal page called “Be Your Own Hero”. I’m kind of an art journal novice, but I really want to use it as a tool to get more in touch with myself, my thoughts, my stress…all of it. It won’t all be pretty. And those pages will be just for me. But this page? I’m sharing with you. And how I went about creating it. Mixed media should not be rocket science, my friends.

I’m sharing a sneak peek, as usual. I really want you to go to the CLASSroom and checkout my process. See if this is something that you would also do.  Maybe I’ll do a video next time, if you all think it would be helpful. But I want to take the frustration out of creating. I want YOU all to Be YOUR Own Hero. I’m trying to be mine. (I’m a work in progress.)

So, here’s a little peek:

It’s very important that you put your fear away. Fear will just hold you back. Create from your heart. No matter what it is. You don’t have to show anyone what you make when you art journal. I’ve been forgetting that. This process is solely for you and you alone. It can be as messy as you want it or as pretty as you want it. Write as much as you want or as little as you want.

But be you. It’s your thoughts. Your feelings. Your inner turmoil. Or complete happiness. Let it all come up. Allow the color to reflect how you feel.

Be you. And Be Your Own Hero. Save yourself.

You Rock

Hi there! I’m sharing a new card on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog today using the You Rock limited edition die from Essentials by Ellen. It’s so super cute!

It was a lot of fun trying (for me) to create a clean and graphic card, as it’s really not my thing. I love mixed media! So trying NOT to get inky was soooo hard! Lol! I wonder if the CAS people think that mixed media is hard? Hmmm… ;)

Trying to get everything lined up just so required way more patience than I have. But that’s where the MyStik® Repositionable Dots came in handy. I was able to use this great product to keep things lined up until I was ready to really stick things down. *whew*
