Now let’s get creative, shall we? I am using a die set designed by the amazing Julie Ebersole for Ellen Hutson, LLC today. I’ve been extremely fortunate to be a member of this wonderful team of creative women for a number of years now and Ellen, herself, is just the most gentle, kind, compassionate, and amazing human being EVER!!! The die set I’m using for my project is Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Holiday Words, by Julie Ebersole.

And here’s a close-up of all the sparkle and shine! And check out that cute little snowflake!

If you don’t cut this die apart it’s fantastic to use together OR if you do decide to cut the words apart? The separate words are amazing on their own. Just imagine using the big, bold “Love” die-cut for a stunning Valentine card. *swoon*!!

United We Flourish Sweet Sprinkles Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to my stop on this super special blog hop. This is a wonderful collaboration between Concord & 9th and Ellen Hutson LLC and we’re thrilled to bring this limited United We Flourish release to you today. I hope that you arrived at my blog from the fabulously talented Emily Midgett’s blog.

I had a lot of fun creating this card for you today. I’ll tell you a few of my little tips and tricks after I show you my card.

I know it’s winter. But who wouldn’t want a shimmery ice cream cone topped with glittery hearts as sprinkles?! I know they make edible glitter powder, but I wonder if it works on ice cream? #ThingsIthinkabout

To create the ice cream and cone: both pieces were die cut from Craft-a-Board and also two pieces of cardstock. (Close in color to the color of the cone and ice cream, but not super important.) Adhere the cardstock to the Craft-a-Board.  By using the Craft-a-Board it keeps all the extra weight that’s being added from bending the shape of the ice cream cone.

Now add a LOT of Embellishment Mousse to the top of the ice cream cone! Use a palette knife to keep it from getting too messy. Or….if you know how to actually bake and that kind of thing (which I don’t) put some of the mousse into a baggie and pipe it onto the ice cream/cupcake topper. Which would look amazing!!

While the Embellishment Mousse is still wet die cut some hearts from red glitter paper and press into the mousse lightly. Set aside to dry. For the cone, stamp the design using Versamark again, onto a Kraft colored cardstock. Then heat set with a gold embossing powder. The center of the cone leave a heart-shaped space. for which there is another die. And I used another piece of red glitter paper to tie it all together.

I love all the soft colors of this card and the gobs of shine, too. This is such a fun stamp and die set that I’m sure you’ll use ALL the time!

To celebrate, two randomly selected commenters will win a $30 gift certificate to the Ellen Hutson shop and two commenters will win a $30 gift certificate to the Concord & 9th shop. To enter just leave a comment on the Ellen Hutson Classroom blog and the Concord blog by 12pm PST on December 26th.

Fuse-Able Thank You

Wow! Busy day! I’m also on The CLASSroom Blog today with a #TexturalTuesdays post and a cool Fuse-able Thank You card that I made using the We-R-Memory Keepers Fuse Tool!

Fuse-able Thank You

My Fuse-Able Thank You card was really fun, but took me forever to make. This tool gets extremely hot. Like a glue gun where you scream and your fingers are instantly welded together. (Ask me how I know.)  Or maybe it’s just me that screams like a small child with hot tools? (Please tell me I’m not the only one.)

Anyway, I would suggest watching a plethora of videos before even thinking of starting with the We-R-Memory Keeper Fuse Tool. If my card looks vaguely familiar? It’s because I CASE’d Julie Ebersole’s amazing card from YouTube HERE <— (click). Not gonna lie. Her brilliance blew my mind and I loved the way she used the patterned paper and went from there. That Julie is one creative chica!

Without scorching my fingers off I even made a teensy pocket for a few glittery hearts. A hole was punched and baker’s twine was threaded through to attach the small pocket to the larger one.

I can see a lot of variations of the above card, especially for Christmas. How fun would that be? Even making a small version for a little something special for each card. I LOVE that idea!! I might have to start now as I’m a renowned procraftinator. ;)

All of my supplies are listed below and these are affiliate links for Ellen Hutson.com. I thank you, in advance, if you shop through any of my links.
