Father’s Day

Whoa…another post?!! ;) I happen to have a Father’s Day card for my #TexturalTuesdays series on the CLASSroom blog for Ellen Hutson today. This card came together much easier than most really. I’ve kinda had a “thing” with circles, lately. My dear friend, Carisa, and I were even discussing this when I showed her a peek of the card. It’s just something I can’t get out out my head. When I was thinking about making my dad’s Father’s Day card I just knew this was the route I was going to go.

Making cards for men is just so hard, but when it’s your dad? You really want it to be extra special, too. I just have a heck of a time making cards for my dad. He thinks I’m the world’s greatest card-maker, but he would look at me sideways if I made him a card with golf clubs on it…or a moustache…or…baby animals….ya catch my drift? I still have to make it just so.

That’s why THIS card coming together so easy (mostly) kind of freaked me out. For the “mostly” part you have to check out the CLASSroom blog and read the full tutorial and all my deep, dark secrets. ;) In the meantime, here’s a full look at the card. No peek…I love this card too much.

It’s cool, huh? So even though it’s not quite Father’s Day yet, I think he’s gonna like this one. I wish you all could touch it. But my pops might have something to say about that. ;)

Thank you for stopping by today!

Mother’s Day

Hey!! Happy Tuesday :) I have a brand new card up on the CLASSroom blog for Ellen Hutson today and I figured with Mother’s Day this weekend I’d make a Mother’s Day card for my mama….y’know since she rocks and gave me life and all. I can’t imagine that having ME as a kid was easy, but I am forever grateful for putting up with my crap. She’s a rock star in my world.

I made her Mother’s Day card using tons of dimension and felt flowers since I know she loves them so much. I tried to make it a card from MY heart just for her. That’s what a Mother’s Day card should be, right?

Anyway, here’s a peek at the card.

Mother's Day 2016

There are so many tiny little details to this card. I really hope that you’ll check out the post and tutorial that I created to go along with it over at the CLASSroom today. There are plenty of photos to go along with it and I’ll have all the supplies listed below.

What do you have planned for Mother’s Day? I’m not a mom, so we’re (my sister and I) are taking my mother out to a place that she has selected for lunch on Sunday. My mom is at an age where she doesn’t really like to go out late (past 5:00pm….hahha!!), so lunch it is. Plus, my mom and I will be doing the Susan Komen Walk for the Cure the day before and I think she could be a wee bit tired. ;) Should be a fun weekend.

I hope that you all have a blessed Mother’s Day, whether you are a mother or not. Know that you ARE loved, cherished, and treasured. ♥

SUPPLIES:

Wood Sheets

Hi everyone! I have a new #texturaltuesdays post in the CLASSroom today for Ellen Hutson using awesome wood sheets. These sheets are SO COOL and so versatile! The wood sheets can be die cut, embossed, and they’re all self adhesive. They come in a variety of colors and styles. The wood comes in self adhesive tapes and envelopes, as well.

What I made today is a card using the wood sheets with a shaker element using the Keepsake Envelopes by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®. I also stamped and  die cut some butterflies using the coordinating stamp and die set Essentials by Ellen Clear Stamps & Designer Dies, Up the Happy by Julie Ebersole.

The shaker portion is so easy with the Keepsake Envelopes! Just fill…and stick. Can’t get much easier than that. :D Those are MY kind of shaker card. I usually reinforce the top with a few staples. Nothing worse than seeing sequins flying all over the house, but maybe you’re into that?

Here’s a peek at my card:

As usual, for the full post I’d LOVE for you to go to the CLASSroom and see my tutorial to see how I made the card.  All the supplies that I used for the card are listed below.

And, in the interest of fairness, the inspiration for the design of my card came from THIS card by my dear friend Heather Pulvirenti. She is wicked talented and I am constantly in awe of her talent. Please visit her blog and look at all her amazing work. She’s FABULOUS!!! ♥

Thank you so much for stopping by today!! Enjoy your week…check out those WOOD SHEETS!! ;)
