Be Kind

I have a brand new #TexturalTuesdays project that I named “Be Kind” from the stencil I used on the CLASSroom blog today featuring ways to find your own texture around the house. This was a really fun little canvas for me to make and I hope that you will all enjoy it, too.

Finding new ways to create texture, especially from things that you just have lying around the house, is so much fun. Even if you’re just using it as a focal piece, as I did for two of my pieces on the canvas. But the fun part is that you can see from the pieces used (go to the BLOG ) how these items could be used in so many different ways.

Here is a sneak peek of the Be Kind canvas just to whet your appetite:

I know you can’t tell much from this…it’s a TRUE sneak peek!! But, there’s actually a lot of texture right there. ;) Even just in the words “Be Kind”. I’m loving this sneaky thing. Hahha!!

In the supplies list you’ll be able to see what PRODUCTS I used but not the free stuff, so that won’t give it all away. I really do hope that you’ll check out the full post. It’s not too lengthy and I hope that you’ll find it useful. I know that if you’re a card-maker that enjoys making CAS cards that you may not be super interested in texture, but maybe you would want to use something you learn from the post for art journaling? And it’s really fun and not super messy…not too bad. :)

I hope that you all remember to Be Kind to yourselves first and foremost. It seems that we are all so busy trying to be nice to others we forget about ourselves. Be Kind to YOU. ♥

The supplies I have listed below are affiliate links from Ellen that I used in my project.  All of the products were purchased by me with the exception of those with an asterisk.

Happy Halloween

Hey everyone! I have this cute little Happy Halloween card up on the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft blog today. I’ve used the Art GRIP® Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils to color and shade the main focal images.

This is by FAR one of my favorite things to do to create color on cards. The depth, shadow, and varieties of color using these pencils is just extraordinary.  While there are many varieties of watercolors out there these pencils are glued through the length of the barrel for long-lasting break resistance. The pigments in these pencils also dissolve completely and are permanent, waterproof, and lightfast when dry.

While I’m not a huge fan of Halloween (I know, I know…) the way this card turned out is so CUTE!!

The stamp set is adorable, huh?

The full step-by-step on how to make this cutie Happy Halloween card is over on the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Blog. So, please pop on over there to make your own! :)

Have an awesome week, everyone, and Happy October!

Celebrating Cath + TT Blog Hop

Hi everyone!! Welcome to my stop on the Celebrating Cath + TT Blog Hop!! YAY!! You should have arrived here from the amazing Julie Campbell’s blog, but if not you can always start at the beginning with Technique Tuesday on their blog –> HERE.

Technique Tuesday is so super excited to have this collaboration of beautiful stamps and dies with the phenomenally talented Cath Edvalson and today is the day that we designers get to show YOU all the fun things you can do with her amazing new line with Technique Tuesday.

I made two card using some of the new products. They are just so versatile!! The card on the left uses the Chain of Flowers die (the negative and the positive) and also the My Friend from Garden Flowers die set. The card on the right again uses the Garden Flowers die set, but also the Garden Leaves die set, and the Garden of Life Stamp set!!

I used Gelatos® to create background prior to making the panel with the Chain of Flowers die. Then snipping a few of the flowers off and popping them up with itsy, bitsy pieces of foam tape makes it look so different! I die-cut the sentiment twice from two separate colors of card stock. I then off-set them slight prior to adhering to the front panel for a little more interest.

For the second card I used water color pencils once the flowers and leaves were stamped and die-cut. Super easy and just a beautiful result. Since the flowers were so colorful I decided to go with a muted and graphic card front and base.

Fun, huh?

So…now on to what everyone loves. FREE STUFF!! Technique Tuesday is going to give away three prizes. One person will a package consisting of all 5 of Cath’s new products. Technique Tuesday will also give away two $25 gift certificates.

The three winners will be chosen at random from all the comments left during the hop on all the blog stops. To be eligible to win, blog hoppers need to just leave a comment on any of the blog hop stops. The more comments they leave during the hop, the more chances they have to win.
**Folks have through midnight PST on Sept. 16th, 2015, to leave comments. The three winners will be announced on the Technique Tuesday blog on Sept. 18th, 2015. **

Your next stop on this jam-packed talented hop is Linda Barber (LOVE HER!!)
