Essentials by Ellen December 2017 Release

Hi there, and welcome to my blog for the final Essentials by Ellen release for 2017.  You should have arrived here from the wonderfully talented and oh-so-sweet Karolyn Loncon’s blog This release is all about celebrating! Birthdays, having fun, cake, confetti, balloons!! Even having a little sparkly. Whether it be sparkling cider or champagne,  I think that you’ll find the release a perfect addition for any occasion: Birthdays, Anniversaries, Friendship, and just about anything else your mind can dream up.

I’m using a few of the new sets from the new release for my pretty in pink card. (With my focus on the new Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Banner Cake By Julie Ebersole.  Here is the card I made. I hope you all like it. It has a TON of shine!! 😎

The following are the two sets I used to make my card:

Essentials by Ellen Clear Stamps, Leading Ladies – Celebration Lady By Brandi Kincaid

Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Banner Cake By Julie Ebersole

As you will have seen from the previous days of this release hop ALL of the sets are so fun and versatile. I used the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® 3D Foam Creative Sheets to die cut my “cake”. Remove the top layer of adhesive liner and then place a sheet of gold foil on top. Burnish the foil with a tool such as the teflon bone folder (shiny shine up). The adhesive from the foam sheet will “lift” the foil. This way you will get the shimmer and shine of the foil AND the loft from the foam! Total win.

Before I took the backing off the other side of my golden cake 😉 I created a very simple background. First, I ran a piece of the beautiful dotted paper (which is actually the Essentials by Ellen Paper Pack, Modern Graphics by Julie Ebersole) through my laminating machine with a piece of Deco Foil pink melon foil.  The center of the foiled paper was ink blended with a few colors of Distress Ink Oxides and the sentiment was heat embossed with a beautiful gold embossing powder from WOW!.

The last step is simply to add embellishments and put the card together. It’s a simple card with a POW! factor. Here’s a close-up:

And rounding out this Saturday hop is the AMAAAAAAAAAZING Jessica Frost-Ballas who I know without a doubt will blow your minds 🤯with her talent!!! I hope everyone had fun on the hop today.

Pink Christmas Card

Hi everyone! I’m back on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog with this Pink Christmas card today. I’ve been having a lot of fun using non-traditional colors for my holiday cards. Are you the type that like to use traditional colors or that likes to break out of the mold?

Pink Christmas - papergrace - 11272016

The wreath is from Taylored Expressions 3 x 4″ Christmas Watercolor Panels (and right now they’re even on sale). I’m addicted to these panels. They’re awesome for beautiful watercolor projects and quick additions to a card.

I wanted to make this a Pink Christmas card because, really, it’s so unlike me. I am more apt to make a deep, dark card. Just being honest here. I don’t plan. I pick colors and patterns as I go. I’m sure that makes people nervous. But, it’s how I do things. It keeps the process more intuitive or organic for me.

I have noticed that I’ve been using pink a lot this year. I’m not sure what that means. Maybe I just need to hide the pink card stock and move on to a new color? ;)

The subtle glittery stripes are created by using the Home & Hobby Premium Double Sided 1″ Permanent Tape with clear glitter burnished on top. This effect is beautiful. And all of the lovely sequins are adhered with the Dodz Adhesive Dots Mini.

More of the process for making this card is on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog post for today with additional photos and supply information, so I hope that you’ll check it out.

Enjoy your day!

Make Your Own Stencil

Hey there! It’s #TexturalTuesdays over in The CLASSroom and I have a new post showing how to Make Your Own Stencil.  In my post I simply use Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies and acetate. So super easy.

I made the card below using the stencil I created from acetate, the Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Holiday Words by Julie Ebersole ,with a little texture paste, and some glitter for shimmer.

Make Your Own Stencil by papergrace

Please be sure to check out the post in The CLASSroom for the full details on how to Make Your Own Stencil (and please don’t be mad when you see how easy it is. HAHHA!!) The great thing about using your favorite dies is that the possibilities are endless.

To give the card added texture, the Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Stitches Cover Plate by Julie Ebersole was used on a piece of Bazzill Card Shoppe Wax Lips Cardstock and the edges were then distressed. I love doing this.

The key in making anything? Is to make what you love. Same goes with stencils, I suppose. And I had a great time making this card. I hope it shows.

Thank you SO much for joining me today and for checking out my how-to in The CLASSroom.  I do appreciate every one of you. xo

I am so excited to showcase the drop-dead GOR-JUS Essentials by Ellen Clear Stamps, Season to Sparkle by Julie Ebersole and the coordinating die set Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Season to Sparkle by Julie Ebersole.  This set is so amazing. I think my jaw dropped when I saw it for the first time. So, so pretty! The sentiments included in the stamp set are just perfect, too.

I was going for a bit of a Northern Lights/Aurora Borealis feel with my watercoloring.  What do you think? And rather than use silver embossing powder I used pewter. I love that it’s a tad less “harsh” in tone. Y’know? The pewter EP looks phenomenal against the jewel tones from the cardstock and my Aurora, too. So happy with this card. :)
Here are what the stamp and die sets look like.season-to-sparkle_thumb

For my second card I used the stand alone Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Geo Tree by Julie Ebersole. This card is so much prettier than what you can see. Which bums me out. The tree behind the geometric tree is water-colored with Distress Crayons in bright Greens and Blues. And a few sequin “ornaments” have been hung. I love the effect.   The shiny bits are FOIL!!

lisaadametz-believe-10112016-blog

I wanted to keep this card simple, so NOT normal for me…I know! To do this the geometric tree shape was die-cut out of Essentials by Ellen, Woodgrain Embossed Cardstock. Everything was layered from the back panel up. And to add a bit of dimension? 3D Foam Adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®, of course. The final touch was a few more sequins and another stand alone die: Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Believe by Julie Ebersole.

Fuse-Able Thank You

Wow! Busy day! I’m also on The CLASSroom Blog today with a #TexturalTuesdays post and a cool Fuse-able Thank You card that I made using the We-R-Memory Keepers Fuse Tool!

Fuse-able Thank You

My Fuse-Able Thank You card was really fun, but took me forever to make. This tool gets extremely hot. Like a glue gun where you scream and your fingers are instantly welded together. (Ask me how I know.)  Or maybe it’s just me that screams like a small child with hot tools? (Please tell me I’m not the only one.)

Anyway, I would suggest watching a plethora of videos before even thinking of starting with the We-R-Memory Keeper Fuse Tool. If my card looks vaguely familiar? It’s because I CASE’d Julie Ebersole’s amazing card from YouTube HERE <— (click). Not gonna lie. Her brilliance blew my mind and I loved the way she used the patterned paper and went from there. That Julie is one creative chica!

Without scorching my fingers off I even made a teensy pocket for a few glittery hearts. A hole was punched and baker’s twine was threaded through to attach the small pocket to the larger one.

I can see a lot of variations of the above card, especially for Christmas. How fun would that be? Even making a small version for a little something special for each card. I LOVE that idea!! I might have to start now as I’m a renowned procraftinator. ;)
