3D Poinsettia

Hey everyone! I’m super excited today because I have this amazing 3D Poinsettia to share with you today. This project is also for the Faber-Castell® Design Memory Craft® Design Team so the full project is on their blog with step-by-step photos and instructions.

I was inspired to make this project because of this stunning Crepe Paper Poinsettia by my friend, Amanda Coleman.

Crepe Paper Poinsettia DIY tutorial

And since she’s the amazing person she is, she allowed me to use the pattern for her leaves to make my OWN leaves for my felt 3D Poinsettia. It sure made my process so much easier. Even though it still took a long time! This is one of those project you need to be fully committed to. (I burned my fingers AND lost a fingernail!!)

And be sure to go to Amanda’s blog and drool over her creations, too. She is CRAZY talented.

The fun begins in The CLASSroom and there is also a Grand Giveaway! To enter, be sure to leave a comment there, and at every stop along the hop by May 5th!  Winners will be announced May 8th.

I have a couple of fun things to share with you today. My tag uses the brand new Be-YOU-tiful die. This is such a fun and versatile die! I die cut it twice. Once with a deep, dark navy blue cardstock and once out of a Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® 3D Foam Creative Sheets. I burnished some gold foil on top of the die-cut adhesive sheet (once the liner was removed, of course) and then peeled the backing layer off of the back and slightly off-set it before pressing it down on top of the blue cardstock.

Onto my second card. Isn’t it pretty? And so simple. First I created my watercolor panel. I love doing this. It is so amazingly relaxing. Picking the colors I wanted to use is always the hardest part.  For this card I used the beautiful Kuretake Gansai Tambi 36-Piece Watercolor set. It is amaaaaaazing! *sigh*

Now, I MUST talk about this seriously gorgeous flower. The Mondo Magnolia is drop-dead, *thud* amazing! And there is a matching die...for ALL of the pieces!! ACK!! I stamped it onto cardstock weight vellum with Versamark and heat set it with a stunning fine, white embossing powder. Then I used the matching die to only cut the outline.  And those gold flecks? Again, I used gold foil. Yep! I applied a strong adhesive (Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Adhesive Sheets used here) in random areas and then just pressed the gold foil on top. Super simple and it totally completes this look. I flicked some of the remaining watercolor on top of the flower and added some more of the Gold Texture Gems™ to the center.

Your next stop on the hop is going to be the AMAZINGLY talented Sandy Allnock (I bow down to her creativeness). Tell her Lisa said “Hi” . :)

Starter Set

Hey! I have a new card on the YES Blog today. It features the Starter Set from Your Everyday Stamps. I used a lot of paper from the Open Book Collection by Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper  to make the card. And then I designed the card as if I were asking my sweetie out on a date. :)

Kinda cute, huh? I love that the Starter Set can be used not *just* for invitations but for cards, too. Just gotta think outside the box a little. And I’m a total outta the box thinker. :D

Come check out the close-up on the blog and all the other projects, too.

Happy Monday!

Watercolored Poppy

Happy Thursday! I have a watercolored poppy to share with you today.

Water coloring seems to be quite the craze these days, but if you’ve been thinking about getting a few watercolor pencils then I hope that the DT of Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® can help. :) Three of us (Rita, Tiffany and myself) seem to be on the same wavelength using these awesome pencils for our posts. Can’t blame us. They’re really wonderful.

Which brings me to my card. It’s a watercolored poppy. Not traditional poppy colors, but hey…I took “artistic license”. :)

This awesome stamp is brought to you by Technique Tuesday and it’s called Budding Poppies. I’m a bit of a poppy “freak”. I can never have enough poppy stamps. I could happily color these all day long. :) It’s true!

So, on the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Blog today I’m showing you how I made the above Watercolored Poppy card using just a few Art GRIP® Watercolor Pencils, the stamp, one of the new stencils, and a couple of other supplies. Pop over and check out the tutorial. I’d love to see you over there, too. ♥
