Aaaaand it’s #TexturalTuesdays!! Yay!! Oh Happy Day! Which also happens to be the sentiment that I used from the very sweet Oh Happy Birds Stamp set that I used for my card today. My card in The CLASSroom with Ellen Hutson is featuring Mama Elephant and Molotow Masking Pens.
I may have tried too hard to make the pens work. Or overthought it. Which I do. It’s not rocket science, but when something is new to you, and you’re really NOT sure what to do with it or how to fit it into your world…overthinking comes soooo easily. ;)
Here is a photo of my Oh Happy Day card:
I love using loose watercoloring for backgrounds. The Molotow Masking Pens are very useful in keeping desired areas completely free of ink and paint. I do believe that I need more practice in using them, however. (Keeping it real.)
It gets frustrating when you just want to complete your project and all you do is mess up, though. *sigh*
If you have one of these pens I’d love to hear your feedback! Now that mine is done, though? It really IS “Oh Happy Day!”
Please check out my complete post on The CLASSroom Blog for all my pics and my full step-by-step
whinefest details on how I made the card with tips and tricks.

Hey there! I have a new card over on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog today that I’m calling “Be Amazing”. Why? Because of one of the little sentiment stamps that came on the Mama Elephant set that I used for the card called Organic Blooms.
I love how this card turned out. I used the stamps from Mama Elephant, all sorts of amazing adhesives (of course) from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®, the die as my centerpiece from Essentials by Ellen, and the Be Amazing stamp to tie it all together. (All products will be linked below, if any of them are not available just be put on the waitlist — which is awesome!) This panel was water-colored using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. If you don’t have even a few of these markers, I would suggest trying a small set. The Zig Clean Color Markers are pretty amazing. ♥
Using the inlaid die-cut like this is a beautiful way to draw the eye to the center of the card. It is also a great way to use the entire focal piece without getting rid of all your hard work!
To see alternate views of this “Be Amazing” card, please head over to the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog. If you have any questions on how I made this card or would like to know more, please let me know. It’s been a while since I’ve made a video… ;)
Hi everyone! Wow…busy week. Hope you’re all doing really great. :) I’m super excited to be sharing my First Shaker card tutorial on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog today.
The 3D Foam Creative Sheets make it so, so, sooo super easy to create a custom die cut for your exact shape/frame/whatever. Kimberly Crawford has a video on YouTube using the 3D Foam Creative Sheets for you people that like to hear someone tell you what to do. She’s really quite fabulous. So using her helpful video and my lame brain (haha!), I made the following card:
The shaker portion AND the rosettes are all included in my First Shaker card tutorial on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog.
I hope you’ll check it out. I have a feeling I’ll need to make more to get the real hang if it, though, as everyone else seems to make them look so easy. :)
I have had so many reasons to smile lately. My sister has been here visiting from Nevada and I can’t think of ANY bigger reason to smile than having my one and only sibling right here to spend a few days with me. She and her hubby are going to spend a few days enjoying the sights of the Bay Area. I know that they’re going to love it. It’s so pretty here!
But, I had work to do, too! One of those things was to make a card for the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Design Team. Not exactly a hard task. ;) (Check out the post for the card below HERE )
Here is my card:
I’ve needed to make a lot of “thinking of you”, “hello”, -type cards lately and this was an easy one to make yet is pretty enough that I feel like it’s still me. Does that makes sense? I tend to usually like to make “fussier” cards, but I know that when you mass produce something it needs to be E-A-S-Y!! ;)
I love the speech bubble sentiments from Mama Elephant. Aren’t they cute? I wanted to have an elegant looking card with all of the gold and black, but still have it look happy. Hence the polka dots and the speech bubbles! Did it work? Are you smiling?
All of the awesome adhesives from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® make this card super duper easy to pull together, too. LOVE THAT!!
Hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day. God Bless America!
I’m in the midst of a mass card-making frenzy here right now. Trying to get as many Christmas cards made as possible before I head home to spend Christmas with my family.
I thought I would go ahead and share one of the versions of the Christmas card that I made. (I made quite a few variants.) I really LOVE how this one turned out (and my photo doesn’t do it justice), but can I just say that the sweet little red bow? Such a time suck. Ha! Everything else on the card came together really easily and you’d think I’d leave off the bow…but I’m a glutton for punishment, I suppose.
I hope that you all know how very much I appreciate the time that you take you stop by my blog. Even just for a second or two. For those of you that leave a comment? My heart swells with love. ♥ And during this very chaotic time of year where we all tend to get caught up in so much craziness…I wish you peace, love, and joy. Merry Christmas, my sweet friends. And a very happy 2014.
