Pearly Canvas

Hi everyone! I’m back from CHA and I have a cool Pearly Canvas up on The CLASSroom blog today for #TexturalTuesdays. I’ve been enjoying the look of metal, buttons, gears, and doo-dads on canvases for quite some time, but I’ve just not known quite how to pull it all together.

While I was at CHA, I was fortunate enough to be able to watch the fabulous Finnabair in action and I got a few tips and tricks from how she creates her stunning pieces of art. After spending some time watching her, I at least felt that I had enough info to do a beginner’s canvas of my own. ;)

I sincerely loved making my Pearly Love canvas (even though it’s on un-cradled hardboard). It was such a learning process for me and I love learning from MYSELF, don’t you? I’m really going to have to dig through all of my embellishments to see what I have to use that I can stick down and make pearly!!

To see the full tutorial and step-by-step photos of how I made this project, I urge you to go to The CLASSroom blog. Plus, there are so many beautiful micas on the market now to play with, too! I’ve been privileged to use some beautiful new pigment powders from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® that are just STUNNING!

I hope that you like this piece…I’ll be looking forward to your feedback! Have a tremendous Tuesday!

Mini Canvas

Hey there! I’m posting this from CHA where I’m exhausted and my feet are on fire. ACK!! But, I wanted to show this super cute little mini canvas that I brought for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® and is on their blog today !! It was super fun to make because it’s using a LOT of the new line from Donna Salazar. She is an amazing mixed media artist that I just adore and she has such passion for what she does. I am so thrilled that she has partnered with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®.

So here’s a little peek of what’s on their blog. Aaaaaand…if you happen to be at CHA? You can pop over to booth # 755 and see my little mini canvas in person!! How cool is that?!

I really love the texture and dimension if this mini canvas. It’s only 6″ x 6″ square. Perfect for creating without getting overwhelmed. Don’t forget to go to the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog to see the full project photo and more information.

I’d love to meet you if you ARE at the trade show tomorrow or early Tuesday. Let me know here in the comments or on my Facebook page. Link is on the right hand side over there —>>>

Have great day and I hope to have some kind of round up when I get back

Believe

Hi there! I have a new project in the CLASSroom for Ellen Hutson, LLC today for #TexturalTuesdays. It’s a tag that I’m simply calling, Believe. I wanted to use some of my older products along with some of my newer ones to create today’s project and see what I came up with. I think at this time of year we all kind of get caught up in what’s the newest thing, the latest, the greatest…but we forget about some of the other things that we still have. So, I put to use some of my older products that have always stood the test of time.

I used alcohol inks, frosted film (which I’ve had FOREVAH!!!),  a Hero Arts ink that I don’t remember how long I’ve had, the Texture Luxe™ which came out last CHA, sequins, wood veneer, paint, and some new products like the foil, and the stamp sets (while, an older release, are still new to me).

This Believe tag took me a little while to create, truthfully, but I really enjoyed the process of pulling together old and new to create something full of texture. The post in the CLASSroom has lots of pics and step-by-step information for you in case you’d like to learn more (which I hope you do!).

Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday!

BOO-tiful Mixed Media

I have a BOO-tiful Mixed Media piece to share with all you lovely people over on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog today and I just looooove how this turned out. This little beauty was created on a piece of 4″ x 6″ MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard). It is so much cooler than what the picture looks like. It’s crackly, shiny, kinda funky, dimensional…all the things a good mixed media piece SHOULD be. I just love it.

Those skulls are just so shimmery!

I have a full step-by-step tutorial on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog showing you how to make this BOO-tiful Mixed Media piece and all you have to do is go there and check it out. Don’t be scared. ;) All the supplies from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® are listed on their blog and if you ever have any questions to any other products I used, please feel free to hit me up.

Have a super spooky Sunday!

Oh Happy Day

Oh Happy Day it  IS! It’s the weekend, right? And I have a brand spankin’ new tag over on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog today using a stamp set with that VERY sentiment. :)

It’s a mixed media tag with a LOT going on. No tutorial this time, sorry! But there’s watercoloring going on, I made a background using my new Gelatos®, used a stencil with Whipped Spackle…lots & lots of stuff!! The stamped flowers were created by watercoloring some paper, THEN stamped, and die-cut. I created the layered effect by using the different thicknesses of 3D Foam Squares that Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® has. So easy!

Here’s a side view… can you see all that dimension?!!?

Check out the full “Oh Happy Day” tag on the blog! I totally love this stamp set and know I’ll be using it lots more. So don’t be surprised to see it more often. :)

Hope that your day is a happy one!
