Painting with Paper Crafter Crayons

Today is my last post for my FIRST term on the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Guest DT so I thought I would try something completely new to me. Kind of an encaustic technique. I’m not using beeswax, though. I’m using the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Paper Crafter Crayons™ !

I made a video to show you the process of how I created my card. (Yay for videos!!) So if the card below intrigues you even just a little, I urge you to check out the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft blog to see how I made it. I think you’ll be surprised at just how easy it is.

(All my supplies for making the card are linked below using Inlinkz.)

Thanks for supporting me and I really hope you like this new technique! Wishing you all a wonderful week. ♥

You are Amazing

It’s my turn on the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Blog today! I’m sharing a card that I made using many of my existing products (as opposed to brand-new) in ways that I hope will help you think outside of the box.

When you create, what are the things that spur you on to try new things? Is it the product itself? Is it how other people use the same product? What makes YOU want to buy something and, when you get it home…use it? Have you been guilty of buying something you thought was soooo wonderful and then *gasp* NEVER. USED. IT?!!

I know I threw  lot of questions of you, but those very questions are why I created the card I did today (and for my tutorial on the blog).

Let me show you my card and then I’ll explain further:

Instead of just using my watercolor pencils to color in an image and make it look all soft and, ummm, water-colory I scribbled on the paper and used a broad water brush to make a background. I also used gesso to make a really nifty bit on the card to draw your eye. I sprinkled it with GLITTAH!! Oh yeah, baby. See what I mean? I know so many people who have gesso and don’t know what to do with it. Well, there ya go. And let me just say a few words about bubble wrap and gesso. Have fun, my friends. Have fun. :)

I’ll be off to CHA this next week, or as they’re calling it now: Create-n-Connect (which sounds so strange, doesn’t it?) I’ll be sure to post highlights and pics as often as I can. If there’s anything in particular you’d like me to take pics of or find out about, please leave me a comment or send me an e-mail. :)

Thanks for stopping by and being the best readers EVER!!

Be Happy

Happy Saturday! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend planned and that the weather is being kind to you wherever you are. It’s my turn over on the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft blog today and I made a really fun, colorful background with my Gelatos® and some sticky backed canvas. I hope you’ll go over and check it out.

Here’s a little sneak peek to whet your appetite (so to speak):

Not a WHOLE lot to go on, but enough to make you wanna go over and see the entire card I hope. Right….right…riiiiiiiight? :D

It was a really easy card to make as you’ll see over there since I give you a step-by-step little how-to guide and I’m telling ya…get some Gelatos®, my friends. It’s time to get over the fear and start having fun.

Have a great weekend and I’ll see you around, okay? :)

Bee Happy!

I was having a super weird day.  Had to chase my postal carrier down after she put a notice in my mailbox saying “sorry I missed you”  WHEN I WAS HOME!!  When I got to her she said, “oh, well I was worried about your dogs”. I don’t have dogs.  Umm… how about you actually check to see if the dogs barking belong to me before leaving those notices? SHEESH!! After paying the amount due for my boyfriends Bug Blaster. (I won’t even get into that.) I was a tad annoyed. Okay, a lot annoyed, but then I started going through the mail and I had happy mail from Neat & Tangled!! YIPPEE!!

Okay, have you seen Danielle’s stamps yet? They are super, uber cute and soooo versatile! When I first laid eyes on them I knew I had to make the card below because I’m just in LVE with that cutie little bee. C’mon, who wouldn’t bee? I mean, be.  Heehee!! ;) All the sets are just really sweet. Just like Danielle. I seriously adore her.

Onto my card! This is VERY Clean & Simple.  Yes, I added a few pearls. But that’s just because I wanted to and I thought it added a little somethin’-somethin’, but it really didn’t neeeeed it, if you know what I mean. I stamped the adorable bee first onto the card front and then onto a scrap of paper. On the scrap piece I colored her (she’s a she-bee) with Copics and filled in her wings with Spica Clear Glitter pen and cut her out. I popped her up on some dimensional adhesive and placed her over the original stamped image for interest.

This card makes ME happy!! I love the paper, the stamps, and the sweet simplicity of it.

I hope you’ve all had a chance to check out Neat & Tangled stamps, too. Danielle’s service is fabulous and the stamps are really fun.

Hope everyone has a really wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping by.
