Essentials by Ellen November Release

Hi there everyone and welcome!! We’re doing a little hop to celebrate the fabulous new Essentials By Ellen November Release. I hope that you’ve arrived here from the amazingly talented Sharon Harnist’s blog . If you need to start at the beginning, just go back and start at the CLASSroom.

I’m so lucky in that I was able to play with a stamp set that is right up my alley! This beautiful stamp set is called Abstract Paint Strokes which was designed by the uber talented Julie Ebersole. This is that kind of stamp set that you can use in a bajillion different ways. You’ll see all the different ways by all the talented designers throughout the hop. Use rainbow inks, pastel inks, watercolors, Christmas colors…you’ll get the idea! And the more you use these stamps, the more excited you’ll get!

I combined the Abstract Paint Strokes set with the Rustic Botanicals Stamp Set by Julie Ebersole to create my card:

And, in a nutshell, I simply used Distress Oxide Inks (which you can substitute with your favorite dye ink – I just happen to like the chalky effect of these inks) for the colored parts. Once dry, I stamped the three floral images in Onyx Black Versafine and then heat set with clear embossing powder. I repeat this with a gold embossing powder for the “dot” images. (It’s showing copper in my photo – my apologies.) The only suggestion I would have is to allow for white space. If you get overly heavy handed in “Lisa’s opinion” it just might look a little crazy. Which, hey, could look really amazing. I’m never one to knock crazy! ;) You do you. The only person that has to be happy at the end of the day is you. Right? Right!

Let’s see, where was I? Okay, I stamped the sentiment with Versamark onto a  piece of black cardstock and then heatset with white embossing powder. And popped it up with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Foam Squares. And I added just a dab of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Bright Gold to the center of the flower. That’s it.  Fairly simple, but a lovely card.

I know that you’ll LOVE your next stop on the hop which is with my wonderful friend and incredibly talented Ellen Hutson teammate, Kittie Caracciolo ⇐⇐⇐ CLICK!!! If you should get lost or just want to go back to top the top of the hop? Then please go to the CLASSroom.

Essentials by Ellen – You Are Enough

Hey there!! We’re celebrating another monthly release with Ellen Hutson, LLC. And I’m just LOVING this one so much! Julie Ebersole designed some beautiful botanicals and Brandi Kincaid also came up with some spectacular large font sentiments that I am in love with.

I think this is a release most of you will REALLY want in your stash. It’s super versatile and can be used in a lot of ways. For my card I used 3 components of the release:

Essentials by Ellen Clear Stamps, Plants Ladies Say by Brandi Kincaid

Essentials by Ellen Clear Stamps, Rustic Botanicals by Julie Ebersole

Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Rustic Botanicals by Julie Ebersole

This card was pretty easy to create. I knew that I wanted the “You Are Enough” to be embossed in a metallic embossing powder. So that was super simple” and then the panel that I stamped/embossed it on was cut to as small as possible.

Believe it or not, the hardest part for me, was making sure that the panel would be super centered. I measured it with a T-Squared ruler about 3-4 times and marked the corners lightly in pencil so that I would know where my stamping would go (roughly).

To be honest? If I had gone over my pencil lines? It wouldn’t have mattered. But I wanted an even pattern. Nothing haphazard. I had a problem with one of my Distress Oxide Inks not stamping very well, but I used a touch of water from a water brush to try to even the color out. It adds a touch of interest to the one color and the card.

The combination of botanical patterns are sooooo pretty!! And, truly the entire release is just a lot of fun. There’s even a PAPER PACK!!!

Essentials by Ellen Paper Pack, Modern Graphics by Julie Ebersole

That paper pack is going to get a LOT of use in the future. Let me tell ya! :D I hope you enjoyed my card today and if you’re curious as to what I used to make my card all of my supplies are listed below (affiliate links are used and I *do* earn a small commission for any purchases made for why I thank you).

I thank you so much for joining me for this Ellen Hutson, LLC release today, but make sure that you check out the CLASSroom all week long for special posts by guest designers and other fun posts.
