Mixed Media Monthly Challenge – Glitter

Hello there and welcome to the 1st of February (my personal favorite day of the year) aaaaaaand the day where we at the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge Blog get to share a new challenge with you! This month it’s all about GLITTER!! Wooohooo! MMMC 21 - Glitter

We were so fortunate to receive some fabby paints from Paperartsy this month and one of the places you can get them is from Frantic Stamper, who is our generous sponsor this month with a $25 gift card!! Yay!!

These paints were so much fun to work with. So fast drying and easy to layer to create a fun background for my piece.

Here are just a few steps at what I did to create to it for this month’s Mixed Media Monthly Challenge featuring GLITTER!!

It was really easy brayer on the paint in the layers (although I found some of the colors didn’t “play” as well as I’d hoped and I added a different one when finished.)

LisaAdametz-FebChallenge-01302016-2

I stamped over the background with a JOFY Stamp Set (JOFY 14) called and used  Stamper’s Big Brush Pens in different colors to provide shading over the acrylic paints. Then I added some Glass Bead Glitter Gel to add glittery highlights to some areas.

When I was at this point I wasn’t overly fond of the coral and the way it looked. So I applied the Bougainvillea paint  with my fingers and then blended it around with a damp, flat paintbrush.

I added some extra stamping to the sides, a strip of glitter tape, a few rhinestones, and stamped a sentiment. Over the sentiment I added a layer of glaze to which I added some glitter. Most of this had to sit overnight to dry.

Be Awesome Canvas

HUGE EDIT!!

This BE AWESOME CANVAS was supposed to be for Faber-Castell® Design Memory Craft® and their blog, but with the death of their CEO and it did NOT make it to their blog (except for a few hours) and has since been removed. So, I’m sharing the finished piece here along with the sneak peek that I originally shared.

This “Be Awesome Canvas” is using some of the new products just released at CHA: Asphalt Texture Paste and the new Stencil 10 Ct. 301 Collection. But, also mixing it up with some of the oldie-but-goodie products, too. I think that you can see the glimmer in the photo from the Glass Bead Glitter Gel, which is just one of my very favorite products ever. (So happy I got a decent shot of this stuff!!)

I’m not sure when the Be Awesome Canvas makes it officially back up on their blog. When it does make it,  I have a full step-by-step tutorial on how I made this piece. It’s much easier than it looks — I promise.

OH!! And I have a UStream coming up for Faber-Castell, too!! Make sure to check it out. Feb. 3rd at 11:00 AM PST/2:00 PM EST . Should be fun. :) Their channel is located here:  http://www.ustream.tv/channel/designmemorycraft

Pearly Canvas

Hi everyone! I’m back from CHA and I have a cool Pearly Canvas up on The CLASSroom blog today for #TexturalTuesdays. I’ve been enjoying the look of metal, buttons, gears, and doo-dads on canvases for quite some time, but I’ve just not known quite how to pull it all together.

While I was at CHA, I was fortunate enough to be able to watch the fabulous Finnabair in action and I got a few tips and tricks from how she creates her stunning pieces of art. After spending some time watching her, I at least felt that I had enough info to do a beginner’s canvas of my own. ;)

LisaAdametz-PearlyLove-01192016-1

I sincerely loved making my Pearly Love canvas (even though it’s on un-cradled hardboard). It was such a learning process for me and I love learning from MYSELF, don’t you? I’m really going to have to dig through all of my embellishments to see what I have to use that I can stick down and make pearly!!

To see the full tutorial and step-by-step photos of how I made this project, I urge you to go to The CLASSroom blog. Plus, there are so many beautiful micas on the market now to play with, too! I’ve been privileged to use some beautiful new pigment powders from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® that are just STUNNING!

I hope that you like this piece…I’ll be looking forward to your feedback! Have a tremendous Tuesday!

December MMMC – Silver and Gold

Hi everyone! It’s December 1st and that means there’s a new challenge at the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge Blog. So, the December MMMC – Silver and Gold:

December Challenge Photo

And, once again, we’re being sponsored by IndigoBlu. This challenge runs from Dec. 1 through Dec. 31

IndigoBlu Image

Silver and Gold is so perfect for this challenge and this month as it will really let your creativity fly. So many wonderful ways to use this prompt. I was able to use one of the IndigoBlu Stamps (Madonna and Child) and the MegaFlake in Winter Dawn (part of the starter kit). I also did a watercolor background and a side panel using a stencil and some Gold TextureLuxe™.

LisaAdametz-DecChallenge-12012015-1

I colored the image in very lightly using ArtGrip® Aquarelle Watercolor pencils.

I think that the December MMMC – Silver and Gold will be a very popular challenge and I hope that you all can join in. Here are the rules listed below:

* You must use our challenge graphic in your challenge post.
* You must comment on at least 3 design team member’s blogs.
* Your post must link back to the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge post

#texturaltuesdays – thank you card

Hi again! I have a #texturaltuesdays – thank you card over on the CLASSroom blog at Ellen Hutson today.  Two Gelatos® cards today. Ha! I was in the zone. For this card I really was trying to show how to not *just* use Gelatos® to watercolor or create backgrounds, but to mix them with other mediums, like Whipped Spackle. I hope that comes across in my post over there.

Here is the #texturaltuesdays – thank you card that I created. Hope you all like it. I think it turned out pretty cool.

LisaAdametz-ThankYou-11102015-1

I just can’t get enough of Fall colors.

If you want to learn more about how I made it. ALL of the step-by-step instructions, with photos, are on the CLASSroom blog HERE. And you can search for any of my previous posts by looking up #texturaltuesdays in the search box on their blog.

Thank YOU for spending a portion of your day with me.  Below you’ll find a list of all the products I used on this card. ♥
