Ellen Hutson LLC 11th Anniversary Celebration Hop – Day 4

Hi, welcome to my blog and Day FOUR of the anniversary celebration for Ellen Hutson, LLC. And HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! To be included in this hop with so many talented and wonderfully kind people in this community always boggles my mind. But, Ellen exudes that kind of graciousness across all stamp designers and stores. She’s a loving, kind and warm-hearted person. And I am forever grateful for the day she asked me to be part of her team.

When I was asked to pick my favorite set to design with I picked one of my early faves designed by Julie Ebersole called Bokeh Dots. I just love the versatility of this set. It’s an abstract set, but very open to interpretation.  I made a very “loose” wreath with it for my card today.  And used another older die Brushstroke Peace for my centerpiece. All of the color is done with the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors. *quick edit – Since there seems some confusion as to whether I embossed with gold or silver? I used PLATINUM!! ;)*

I love doing loose watercoloring like this. And beautiful abstract sets like Julie’s make my style of design so easy to work with.

I’m always looking forward to what new, fun, or inspirational designs and sets Ellen has found for us on the horizon. It truly is such a joy to be a part of her team and to partner with so many other wonderful talented ladies, too.

Happy Anniversary, Ellen. And thank you for opening your warm and comforting arms to me so many years ago at CHA and inviting me to be a part of your family. I love you!

*wiping my happy tears away*

Essentials by Ellen November Release

Hi there everyone and welcome!! We’re doing a little hop to celebrate the fabulous new Essentials By Ellen November Release. I hope that you’ve arrived here from the amazingly talented Sharon Harnist’s blog . If you need to start at the beginning, just go back and start at the CLASSroom.

I’m so lucky in that I was able to play with a stamp set that is right up my alley! This beautiful stamp set is called Abstract Paint Strokes which was designed by the uber talented Julie Ebersole. This is that kind of stamp set that you can use in a bajillion different ways. You’ll see all the different ways by all the talented designers throughout the hop. Use rainbow inks, pastel inks, watercolors, Christmas colors…you’ll get the idea! And the more you use these stamps, the more excited you’ll get!

I combined the Abstract Paint Strokes set with the Rustic Botanicals Stamp Set by Julie Ebersole to create my card:

And, in a nutshell, I simply used Distress Oxide Inks (which you can substitute with your favorite dye ink – I just happen to like the chalky effect of these inks) for the colored parts. Once dry, I stamped the three floral images in Onyx Black Versafine and then heat set with clear embossing powder. I repeat this with a gold embossing powder for the “dot” images. (It’s showing copper in my photo – my apologies.) The only suggestion I would have is to allow for white space. If you get overly heavy handed in “Lisa’s opinion” it just might look a little crazy. Which, hey, could look really amazing. I’m never one to knock crazy! ;) You do you. The only person that has to be happy at the end of the day is you. Right? Right!

Let’s see, where was I? Okay, I stamped the sentiment with Versamark onto a  piece of black cardstock and then heatset with white embossing powder. And popped it up with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Foam Squares. And I added just a dab of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Bright Gold to the center of the flower. That’s it.  Fairly simple, but a lovely card.

I know that you’ll LOVE your next stop on the hop which is with my wonderful friend and incredibly talented Ellen Hutson teammate, Kittie Caracciolo ⇐⇐⇐ CLICK!!! If you should get lost or just want to go back to top the top of the hop? Then please go to the CLASSroom.

Essentials by Ellen October Release

Hi there everyone and welcome!! We’re doing a little hop to celebrate the fabulous new Essentials By Ellen October Release. I hope that you’ve arrived here from the Mondo talented Julie Ebersole’s blog . If you need to start at the beginning, just go back and start at the CLASSroom.

I’m playing with the super wonderful new stamp and die set called Thistle which was designed by the ever-so-lovely Julie Ebersole. I just love the kind of loose interpretation of what everything is and could be.  This is really gorgeous set.

Essentials By Ellen Clear Stamps, Thistle by Julie Ebersole

Essentials By Ellen Designer Dies, Thistle by Julie Ebersole

I also incorporated a few berries and a sentiment from an older stamp set just to make my card complete. This was fairly simple stamping with multiple Distress Inks onto the stamp, stamping, then using a waterbrush, making the image look a bit more watercolor-ish.  I added a brown colored pencil to the center of the leaves. To me, it completed the look. But, it’s just a personal preference.

It would also be fun to mix and match the leaves from the Snailed It stamp set with this one. I simply chose not to.  I hope you won’t hold that against me. :)

Julie’s patterned paper was run through my Minc mini with Gold transfer foil and the gold in the card is perfectly tied together. It’s a super pretty card. And I love the die-cut felt acorns. LOVE THEM!!

This release is so beautiful and sweet. Perfect for Fall. Don’t wait too long if you want to snatch this one up. It will sell out fast.

Next up on today’s awesome hop is the wonderfully talented  Melania Deasy. I know you’re going to love what she created for you.

Thank you for stopping by today! Hope that you enjoy the hop. :) All of my supplies are listed below. (Affiliate links are used when possible.)

Hop for Hope

Hi crafty friends, and welcome to a very special blog hop. A hop for hope. You should have arrived at my blog from the wonderful Laurel Beard‘s blog and your next stop on this hop will be the fabulous Nichol Spohrs blog.

As many of you may or may not know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The stamp set that we are all using was designed in May to raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Fund (BCRF).  Please read the post on The CLASSroom blog to see how this beautiful stamp set all came to be and how YOU can help. –> LINK <–

This is the beautiful stamp and die set we all used:

In honor of this amazing hop, with these beautiful, brave women joined together today, I made a card! Yay!

Really simple, layered stamping with a water-colored pink ribbon. I turned my oval on it’s side for a little interest (which I thought was fun and made things flow much better).

And a close-up!

There is a lot of dimensional adhesive used to give it dimension. Sometimes that isn’t seen when looking at the card as it’s laying flat. But’ the flowers are at different heights and it’s quite fun.

All of the wonderful and talented people involved in this hop are listed below, so please stop and say hi and leave some love.

September Release Hop for Essentials by Ellen

Woohoo!! There’s nothin’ I like better than a new release! How ’bout you? And lucky for YOU Ellen Hutson now has ’em every month! Yeah, baby, yeahhh!! (Said in my best Austin Powers voice. *ahem* If you don’t know, that’s perfectly okay.)

I digress. This month is so amazing. And we have an awesome blog hop this week to get you going. You should have arrived at my blog from the P*H*E*N*O*M*E*N*A*L Tracey McNeely’s blog. In fact, I wouldn’t blame you for going back and hanging out there awhile. She’s pretty stinkin’ talented (as you all know).  And, you can always go back to The CLASSroom to start over or check out any other blogs you may have missed in the hop.

So I made a “Coal” (heh) tag using the Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Concertina Tag by Julie Ebersole for both of my projects but one is definitely more Bah Humbuggery (yes, it’s a word!!) and the other is a SET of tags. I hope you like them both.

And here is the tag all closed and tied up. So cute!

And now for my trio of tags. I love the simplicity of these. But the bold POPS! of color are what make these so fun.

That Fall one would be so fun to give at Thanksgiving with a bottle of wine or whatever you’re bringing to the feast, don’t you agree? No one says you HAVE to use holly leaves for Christmas. :)

And don’t forget to check out all the awesome projects from ALL the hoppers, if you haven’t. Thank you SO much for stopping by today!!
