Pink Christmas Card

Hi everyone! I’m back on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog with this Pink Christmas card today. I’ve been having a lot of fun using non-traditional colors for my holiday cards. Are you the type that like to use traditional colors or that likes to break out of the mold?

The wreath is from Taylored Expressions 3 x 4″ Christmas Watercolor Panels (and right now they’re even on sale). I’m addicted to these panels. They’re awesome for beautiful watercolor projects and quick additions to a card.

I wanted to make this a Pink Christmas card because, really, it’s so unlike me. I am more apt to make a deep, dark card. Just being honest here. I don’t plan. I pick colors and patterns as I go. I’m sure that makes people nervous. But, it’s how I do things. It keeps the process more intuitive or organic for me.

I have noticed that I’ve been using pink a lot this year. I’m not sure what that means. Maybe I just need to hide the pink card stock and move on to a new color? ;)

The subtle glittery stripes are created by using the Home & Hobby Premium Double Sided 1″ Permanent Tape with clear glitter burnished on top. This effect is beautiful. And all of the lovely sequins are adhered with the Dodz Adhesive Dots Mini.

More of the process for making this card is on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® blog post for today with additional photos and supply information, so I hope that you’ll check it out.

Enjoy your day!

Holiday Mixed Media Project

Hi everyone! Running late today due to computer glitches, but I have a Holiday Mixed Media Project up over on the CLASSroom blog for Ellen Hutson and my #TexturalTuesdays series today. I hope you’ll find some time to check it out.

This project today is featuring a ton of Ranger products so, naturally, it also includes products by Tim Holtz. I used Tim’s new collage mediums, as well. Please check out the post to see what I liked and what I thought was so-so. I use so many different type of collage mediums I was really was looking forward to trying these out! Have any of you used them? What do you think? I’d love to know.

This type of panel is a 4″ x 6″ flat back canvas that come pre-primed so they are perfect for makeing small wall hangings and gifts. I love to work on these since they ARE flat and no priming is necessary. Hole punching is also a breeze if you have a heavy duty hole puncher (which I do).

They hold up to heat and most standard “abuse” fairly well. ;) Make sure to check out the Holiday Mixed Media Project post to see the full tutorial and additional photos for all information on how this is created. They are easily adjusted to your own style and creative needs.

I hope that you all have an amazing week and an amazing Thanksgiving!

Listed below are all of the supplies that I utilized with my affiliate link through Ellen Hutson, if you are interested. Thank you for your support! ♥

¡Ay Caramba!

Just made my very first card in Spanish. :) But, let me tell ya this card gave me grief. I have no Spanish-language stamps so I figured, no problem, I’ll just use my Justrite block and letters and I’ll make my own, right? HA! I don’t have all the necessary squiggles, wavy lines and accents necessary to make it “right”.

I did so much research trying to find the correct way to simply say “celebrate” in Spanish that my eyes were crossed. After about an hour I still didn’t know how to say (or stamp) it correctly that I just texted my boyfriend and asked him. (I should’ve done that at the beginning!)

Here’s the result… and please forgive my lopsided “¡” :

So, my supplies… Paper: SU! Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Whisper White, & Windsor Knot DP. Ribbon: SU! Sage Shadow. Brads: Making Memories. Ink: SU! Chocolate Chip pigment ink and Tsukineko Versamark. Stamp: SU! Stitched Exotics. Embossing: Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes.

I didn’t take a picture of the inside of this card (I hardly ever do), but I did manage to stamp “Feliz Cumpleaños” inside of it. I had to handwrite the tilde (~) but it looked okay. As long as Eddy’s dad likes it…I’ll be happy. :)
